Plasma

Plasma

Plasma is an ideal method to apply Thermal Barrier Coatings used in power generation on land-based turbines, such as transition ducts and other parts in the turbine engine hot side. These ducts are typically coated using one of Thermachs I.D. extension torches.

Transition ducts and combustor units that have I.D.’s larger than 8 inches can be coated using the Thermach True 90 Degree SG-100 Plasma Torch. Other extensions are limited to a spray angle of 45 or 60 degrees. The ideal impingement angle is 90 degrees to substrate +/- 10 degrees.

HVOF

HVOF

HVOF is ideal for the application of tungsten carbide anti-wear coatings because it creates better bond strength and coating density. Thermach HVOF Spray Systems are often used in the fracking and oil industry on gate and ball valves as a hard chrome replacement.
