From roll journals to be re-machined to nonstick cookware, thermal spray is useful in manufacturing to add benefits and increase efficiency. User-friendly consoles make the process efficient and repeatable.

Twin Wire Electric Arc

Arc Spray is used in the roll industry for repairs and refurbish. Arc Spray is applied to build the rolls or shafts up so they can be machined back to size. It is also an ideal process to build up journals on low RPM diesel ship crank shafts.

For home goods, Arc Spray equipment is used to apply rough metallic coatings to cookware before non-stick coating is applied, to prolong the lifespan of the non-stick surface. Magnetic steel coatings are applied to cookware for induction cook tops.

HVOF

HVOF

HVOF Thermal Spray equipment excels at applying certain coatings faster, denser, and with better bond strength than Arc Spray or Plasma, and ideal for building up repairs. Examples include cutting edges and bearings.

Thermach’s AT-8000 console is user-friendly. Auto-start, optional auto ignition, and flame detection make the process safe and repeatable. If the sensor doesn’t sense a flame, the system goes into auto-shutdown for safety. Thermach HVOF consoles are designed for one-button ‘push and go’ for repeatable, consistent results.
