Precision and purity are the driving factors for medical-grade thermal coatings. Thermach systems deliver on these needs by designing thermal spray torches and consoles for process efficiency and ease of use.

HVOF

HVOF

The HV2000 Torch uses oxygen and hydrogen to apply coatings with zero contamination from the combustion process. This ensures quality, bond strength and optimal density of medical-grade coatings such as Hydroxyapatite (HA), a naturally occurring mineral form of calcium apatite.

The Thermach AT-8000 console is user-friendly, featuring auto-start, optional auto-ignition and flame detector functions. If the sensor doesn’t sense a flame, the system goes into auto-shutdown for safety. Systems are designed for one-button push-and-go operation, delivering repeatable, consistent results.

Plasma

Plasma

Thermach Plasma Systems with a Mach II Torch are also used to apply HA in medical-grade applications such as hip implants, where the ball and socket are coated with ceramics on the joint surfaces and HA on the attachment surfaces. Low-Pressure Plasma Spray is another popular choice, where plasma is sprayed in a vacuum to create a porous titanium coating that is oxide-free and may later be coated.
